The Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level (SSC CGL) exam is conducted for recruitment to various Group B and Group C posts in various Ministries/Departments and Organizations of the Government of India. The exam is conducted in Tier-I, Tier-II, Tier-III and Skill Test format.

SSC CGL 2024:

The Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level (SSC CGL) examination is conducted to recruit staff for various Group B and Group C posts in ministries, departments, and organizations of the Government of India. The exam is conducted in two tiers:

SSC CGL 2024 Tier 1 Exam Pattern:

Tier 1: This is a computer-based objective type exam of 200 marks and is qualifying in nature. It consists of four sections:

  • General Intelligence & Reasoning (50 marks)
  • General Awareness (50 marks)
  • Quantitative Aptitude (50 marks)
  • English Language & Comprehension (50 marks)

Note: There is negative marking in this tier, with 0.5 marks being deducted for each wrong answer. The total duration of the exam is 60 minutes.

SSC CGL 2024 Tier 2 Exam Pattern:

Tier 2: This tier consists of three papers, depending on the post you are applying for.

  • Paper-I (Compulsory for all posts) is a computer-based objective type exam of 200 marks. It consists of four sections:
    • Mathematics (100 marks)
    • Statistics (50 marks) – This section is only for candidates who applied for the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO)
    • Economics (50 marks) – This section is only for candidates who applied for the post of Assistant Audit Officer (AAO)

Note: Paper-II (for the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) only) is a pen-based exam of 100 marks. It tests the candidate’s knowledge of Statistics and their ability to handle data.

Paper-III (for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer (AAO) and Assistant Accounts Officer (AAO)) is a pen-based exam of 100 marks. It tests the candidate’s knowledge of Audit and Accounts.

There is negative marking in this tier as well, with varying penalties depending on the section. The total duration of the exam varies depending on the paper.
