The Staff Selection Commission is set to release the official notification for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2024 on June 11, 2024. Eligible candidates can apply online until July 10, 2024, by visiting the official website at ssc.nic.in.

SSC CGL 2024 Vacancy:

Eligibility Criteria:

Auditor, Accountant, Junior Accountant, Senior Secretariat, Upper Division Clerks, Tax Assistant & Sub-Inspector: Bachelor’s Degree, Age 18-27.

  • Inspector & Assistant: Bachelor’s Degree, Age 18-30.
  • Assistant Section Officer: Bachelor’s Degree, Age 20-30.
  • Assistant Audit Officer, Inspector of Income Tax & Division Accountant: Bachelor’s Degree, Age 18-30.
  • Junior Statistical Officer: Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics or 60% in Maths in Class 12, Age 18-32.

Application Fee:

A nominal application fee of ₹100 is applicable for General candidates, while Female, SC, ST, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted.

Selection Process:

The selection process involves four stages:

  1. Tier 1: Computer-Based Test (CBT) with four sections.
  2. Tier 2: CBT with Paper I (Quantitative Abilities), Paper II (English), and Paper III (Statistics).
  3. Tier 3: Pen and Paper Descriptive Test.
  4. Tier 4: Specific posts may have Data Entry Skill Test (DEST) or Computer Proficiency Test (CPT).

SSC CGL Exam Pattern

In the SSC CGL exam, the pattern is as follows:

Tier 1:

Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)

Duration: 60 minutes

Sections: 4 (General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Comprehension)

Questions: 100 (25 questions in each section)

Marks: 200 (2 marks for each correct answer)

Negative Marking: 0.50 marks deducted for each incorrect answer

Tier 2:

Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)

Duration: 2 hours for each paper

Sections: Paper I (Quantitative Abilities), Paper II (English Language and Comprehension), Paper III (Statistics) – applicable for certain posts

Questions: Varies based on the paper

Marks: Varies based on the paper

Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer in Paper II (English Language and Comprehension), 0.50 marks for Paper I and Paper III

Tier 3:

Mode: Pen and Paper (Descriptive)

Duration: 1 hour

Sections: Essay/Precis/Letter/Application Writing

Marks: 100

Tier 4:

Mode: As applicable for specific posts

Nature: Qualifying in nature

Sections: Data Entry Skill Test (DEST) for Tax Assistants and Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) for Assistant Section Officer in CSS and Assistant in MEA.
